Decorate your Home with FLOWERS

When in Italy, the one thing I noticed about everyone's houses were the floral arrangements in their balconies or their window sills. Even the corner restaurants had some floral arrangements on the tables.

Being a fan of gardening, planting and flowers in general, I thought of dedicating this post to some floral arrangement tips and how a home seems cool, refreshing and positive with those little blooms and colors!

Also notice, how it's not about just getting one bunch, it's about mixing and matching smaller bunches with larger ones, getting those hues together and if you do get a single bunch, get a contrasting vase!

Spotlight On: Cynthia Frank's Southampton Home

Wanting to blog a little about about interiors this time, I started my research and came across this fabulous seven - bedroom Southampton home of Cynthia Frank.

Who is Cynthia Frank? She's been a leading magazine editor for various magazines for five decades and is a contributing editor at Elle Decor - "first as an assistant to the fabric and fur editor of Harper's Bazaar, then at such publications as Town & Country, House & Garden, and now ELLE DECOR, where she is a contributing editor at large."

Her home, classical french decor style, is uber-chic, mixed with lovely whites, neutrals and hues of blue. Every room has its own little style, making each space distinctively different from the other [decorated with the help of Timothy Haynes and Kevin Roberts].

I absolutely love the arm chairs, flooring and art pieces.

Observations: Table Lamp Trends in 2013

I have been hunting for a good table lamp since days now and have been very confused as there are some amazing pieces out there! If you have the budget, you can get some fabulous stuff. Having a keen eye for design in general, I have noticed how The Table Lamp has changed trends since 2011/ 2012.

Below are a few observations I have made in the new trends of table lamps:

  • This year, I see more of earthy, rustic and simple tones as compared to metallic gold and silver from last year. Less of bling surely!
  • The colors are contrasting, it's almost like the color blocking of dresses.
  • The bases are more geometric ranging from squares to rectangles to ovals.
  • If the base is simple, then the shade has to have a high contrasting color or a detailed pattern. If the shade is simple, then the base has to be creative.
  • There is a combination of Vintage + Modern
  • Plain glass base are the hottest now!
